MEET THE PCAL TEAM
Charles W. Northern - Marketing director
Mr. Northern is responsible for the production and marketing of
Louisiana School Board accounts for PCAL. Since July 1, 2001,
he has served
as President of Risk Services of Louisiana. Prior to that date
he was Executive Vice President and unit leader with Aon Risk
Services, Inc of Louisiana. As Aon unit leader in Alexandria,
Mr. Northern produced major governmental, industrial, and transportation
accounts and oversaw Aon’s commitment to quality service. Workers’
Compensation Self-Insurance programs are an area of expertise
as Mr. Northern has produced more than 100 individual self-insured
accounts in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.
Mr. Northern is an eight-time A&A Summit Club qualifier and has attended Aon’s Excellence Roundtable.
More currently he qualified for the Inner-Circle designation awarded
by the Leavitt Group in 2008.
Before joining Aon, previously Alexander & Alexander, in 1982, Mr. Northern was Vice President of Stewart Sneed
Hewes, Inc., in Gulfport, Mississippi. He began his insurance career
in 1970 with The Travelers in their Jackson, Mississippi office
and transferred to New Orleans in 1975 as Assistant Underwriting
Manager. In this role, Mr. Northern worked with agents and brokers
throughout Louisiana.
Educated in the Jackson, Mississippi public schools, Mr. Northern
attended the University of Mississippi and obtained his B.S. from
the Mississippi College School of Business. He attended the College
of Insurance Management School in Princeton, New Jersey and the
London Insurance Market Program in London, England.
He is past president of the Mississippi Stock Insurance Association
and Alexandria Insurance Exchange.
